The EIZO RadiForce GX560 is a 21.3-inch, 5-megapixel (2048 x 2560) monochrome LCD monitor for breast tomosynthesis and digital mammography reading. It is sold as a single monitor with its stand, or as the GX560 MammoDuo, which places two monitors side by side on a dedicated stand. The narrow bezel lets the eyes move easily from one screen to the other, and the height, tilt and swivel of both monitors can be adjusted without gaps appearing between them.
The GX560 has FDA 510(k) clearance for breast tomosynthesis, mammography and general radiography. Its LTPS (low temperature polysilicon) panel reaches a maximum brightness of 2,500 cd/m2 with a 1700:1 contrast ratio, displaying deep blacks and bright whites without washout. A 12 ms response time supports smooth, continuous viewing of tomographic images such as breast tomosynthesis, MRI and CT.
Key features
-
High-definition mammography images: 0.165 mm pixel pitch and 10-bit (1,024-tone) simultaneous grayscale display help distinguish subtle density differences and avoid the pixelation seen at lower resolutions.
-
Sharpness Recovery: EIZO technology that restores the sharpness (MTF) normally lost when an LCD panel is driven at high brightness, so images stay true to the original source data.
-
DICOM Part 14 calibration: each grayscale tone is measured and set by EIZO. The Integrated Front Sensor (IFS) in the front bezel and the included RadiCS LE software calibrate the monitor without mounting an external sensor; simple calibration with the backlight sensor is also supported.
-
Stable brightness: patented drift correction stabilizes brightness at startup or wake-up and compensates for fluctuations caused by ambient temperature and time.
-
Work-and-Flow functions: Switch-and-Go operates two workstations with a single mouse and keyboard; Point-and-Focus changes the brightness and grayscale of a selected area to make interpretation easier.
-
CAL Switch: front-panel selection of modes for different modalities such as mammography, MRI and endoscopy.
-
Screen options: anti-glare (AG) treatment for bright environments, or anti-reflection (AR) treatment for moderately lit rooms.
-
Space-saving MammoDuo: 67 mm narrower, 36 mm shorter and 20.5 mm shallower than two conventional 5MP monitors, reducing the occupied space by 22%.
-
Power save mode: a presence sensor switches the monitor to power save mode when the user is away and resumes operation on return.
For complete quality control programs, EIZO RadiCS UX2 software and a calibration sensor (sold separately) perform precise calibration conforming to DICOM Part 14 and support quality control compliant with ACR Practice Guidelines and other common standards for digital mammography monitors.
