Sony UP-X899MD B&W Thermal Paper
Sony introduces the UP-X899MD, an A6 black-and-white hybrid printer built for ultrasound, endoscopy, and other medical imaging workflows. As the direct successor to the UP-X898MD, it keeps the same compact hybrid design while adding faster print speeds, sharper image accuracy, and a redesigned control panel.
Like its predecessor, the UP-X899MD supports both analog video (BNC) and digital USB connections, so it drops into existing ultrasound carts and imaging systems without requiring a full workflow overhaul. A Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Type-C port lets technicians automatically save printed still images to a connected USB flash drive – no separate capture step required.
Sony redesigned the front panel with a white backlit LCD, flat control buttons, and a new joystick for faster menu navigation, and reworked the internal cutter so prints can be trimmed upward or downward – a real advantage when the printer sits underneath the ultrasound console. The result is a printer that’s lighter and more power-efficient than the UP-X898MD while staying fully compatible with the UPP-110 media family already stocked by most ultrasound departments.
